My love of reading dates back as far as I can remember, and this has helped immensely in my own language learning journey. I’m currently learning 7 languages: Japanese, Spanish, French, Korean, Italian, German, and Russian.
Being a self-professed language fanatic, I hope to bring the joy in language learning to every learner. Finding strategies that are fun for students, working with different learning styles, and most importantly, helping each student improve are what drive me.
I’ve worked as an English tutor since studying Linguistics and foreign languages at the University of British Columbia. Since then, I’ve worked for the Wall Street Institute of English as Study Advisor and personal tutor in Taiwan, and freelanced for many years translating for various industries including a magazine for the Expat community, as well as travel, technology, and beauty content. My enthusiasm for teaching English has brought me back to studying after many years and I’m currently completing my TESOL program at Thompson Rivers University.
I’m fascinated with learning about the science behind how we learn languages and love sharing my knowledge and passion through teaching.
